While this represented an important step forward for India-Pakistan relations, this meant Pakistan only guaranteed two out of four matches instead of four; additionally, PCB still needed to meet criteria set forth by International Cricket Council before participating in second phase tournament.
India-Pakistan cricket remains one of the world’s most watched events and will draw millions of viewers around the world on Saturday. An expected 134,000 fans are set to gather in India’s Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad; millions more in both countries will watch on television.
